Every cleaner we place on a school campus holds a WWCC and a national police check, and we hand the clearance numbers to your business manager before the first shift so you can verify them yourself rather than take our word for it. If a cleaner is replaced, the replacement is cleared and verified before they set foot on site — not on the understanding that the paperwork will follow.

Alongside that, we provide the certificate of currency for our $20m public liability cover, safe work method statements and site-specific inductions. Schools get audited, so we assume the paperwork will be asked for and get it to you before you have to chase it. Our cleaners are employees who are inducted and supervised, not subcontractors picked up on a per-job basis.

What happens every single day

The daily scope is built around two things that decide how a school feels: the amenities and the high-touch surfaces. Student toilets are cleaned, disinfected and restocked on a set schedule, not once at the end of the day when the damage has already been done and reported by a parent. High-touch points — door handles, push plates, light switches, taps, bubblers, shared desks and chair backs — are disinfected daily, because that is where a gastro outbreak travels and because it takes minutes if you actually plan for it.

From there, classrooms are cleaned properly: desks and tables wiped, whiteboards and marker trays cleaned, floors vacuumed or mopped, and reading-corner mats vacuumed rather than stepped around. Corridors, stairwells, lockers and entry matting get done every day, because entries are where the soil load comes in and it spreads from there. Halls, staff rooms, sick bays, libraries and the canteen each have their own scope. Graffiti, gum and scuff marks come off walls, doors and hard floors as they appear, rather than accumulating until a working bee is organised.

Working around a timetable

The main clean happens after the final bell, once after-school care has released the rooms it is using. That means no vacuum noise during class, no cleaner moving between children, and a campus that is reset overnight rather than mid-lesson. On larger campuses we team-clean by building so the whole site is finished in one window instead of dragging through the night.

The term-break program is where the real work happens

Everything that cannot be done around a timetable gets done in the holidays. Carpet extraction through classrooms and the library. Vinyl stripped and re-sealed in corridors and halls. High dusting of light fittings, vents, beams and pipework. Inside windows. A full detail of the canteen, including the appliances the daily clean can only wipe. Sports halls and gym floors get machine work that they simply cannot receive on a Tuesday night with basketball training running.

We agree that program a term ahead, so it is quoted, scheduled and staffed before the last day of term rather than being negotiated in the first week of the break when nobody is available. It is finished before staff return for the pupil-free days, which is the only measure of a holiday program anybody actually cares about.

Specialist rooms and the things we do not touch

Science labs are cleaned around the chemicals rather than through them: benches, floors, sinks and fume-cupboard exteriors, with anything in a cupboard, a fridge or a lab coat left strictly alone and reported to the technician. Food-tech and hospitality kitchens are cleaned to food-handling standards. Music rooms, art rooms and technology workshops each get a scope agreed in writing before we start, because the fastest way to lose a school is to have a cleaner tidy away something a teacher had set up for the morning.

Playground equipment inspections, asbestos management and grounds maintenance sit with your other contractors. We report what we notice, but we do not certify it and we will not pretend to.
