What is home cleaning in Sydney?
Home cleaning is the scheduled domestic cleaning of an occupied house or apartment, most commonly weekly or fortnightly. A standard visit covers kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms and living areas: benches and sinks, showers and toilets, dusting, vacuuming and mopping.
Clean Best sends the same police-checked cleaner to your address each visit and works Monday to Saturday across Sydney and NSW. Products can be ours or yours, prices are fixed in writing, and there is no lock-in contract.

Regular domestic cleaning
Home cleaning Sydney households actually stick with
Good home cleaning Sydney homeowners can rely on comes down to something unglamorous: the same person, on the same day, doing the same job to the same standard. Agencies that send whoever happens to be free that week never get past the surface, because nobody has time to learn the house. Clean Best assigns one cleaner to your address and keeps them there. By the third or fourth visit they know the guest bathroom barely gets used, that the hallway timber hates being over-wet, and that the dog sheds onto the second lounge. That knowledge is the difference between a house that has been cleaned and a house that is actually clean.
Clean Best has been cleaning across Sydney since 2015, working from our base in Wentworthville out through the inner west, the north shore and the south. Domestic work is a different discipline to commercial work. Nobody lives in an office at nine at night, but somebody lives here: there are school bags in the hallway, a partner on a call in the spare room, a cat that must not get out the front door. Our cleaners are trained for that — quiet, self-directed, and conscious that they are guests in someone's house rather than contractors on an empty floor.
What a standard visit actually covers
A regular clean is built around the two rooms that decide how a house feels: the kitchen and the bathrooms. Benchtops, splashbacks and sinks are scrubbed and dried rather than smeared. The cooktop is degreased. Shower screens and grout are worked on rather than rinsed, because soap scum builds in layers and a quick wipe simply polishes it. From there we move outward — dusting skirting boards, sills, shelves and switches, vacuuming carpets including the edges and under anything that moves, then mopping hard floors with a finish suited to timber, tile or vinyl. Beds are made, bins are emptied and relined, and the house is left aired and locked exactly as you asked.
What we do not do in a standard visit matters just as much, and we say it up front. Oven interiors, inside windows, blinds, wardrobes and the space behind heavy furniture are deep-clean jobs. Cramming them into a fortnightly visit only means something else gets rushed. Instead we either rotate them across the year as scheduled extras, or you book a one-off deep clean and we do them properly in a single day.
Products, allergies and what lives under your sink
Most households let us bring everything: vacuum, mop, microfibre cloths and a standard product kit. But a good number of Sydney homes have a reason to want something different. A child with asthma. A partner sensitive to fragrance. A marble benchtop that will etch the moment anything acidic touches it. A household that simply prefers plant-based cleaners and has already found the ones it trusts. Leave your own products out and your cleaner uses them. It costs no more and we do not argue about it. If a surface needs a specific approach — natural stone, engineered timber, brushed tapware — tell us at the walkthrough and it goes on the job card, so the instruction survives any change of staff.
Keys, access and the trust question
Nearly every regular house we clean is empty when we arrive. That only works if you trust the person holding the key, so we make that trust verifiable rather than asking you to take it on faith. Every cleaner holds a current national police check. Keys are logged on a key register, tagged by code rather than by street address, and held by the single cleaner assigned to your home rather than floating around an office. Lockboxes and smart-lock codes work just as well. If you ever stop the service, the key comes back at the last visit. Clean Best carries $20m public liability insurance and our cleaners are employees, not marketplace contractors, so if something goes wrong you are dealing with a company and an insurer rather than an individual and a shrug.
How often, and what it costs
Fortnightly is the right rhythm for most families. Weekly earns its keep where there are toddlers, pets, shift workers, or a wide expanse of hard floor that shows every mark within a day. Monthly suits smaller units and tidy households who only want the heavy work handled. We give you a straight answer at the assessment, because there is nothing in it for us in selling a weekly clean to a house that needs a fortnightly one. Unhappy clients cancel, and we have no lock-in contract to hide behind.
Pricing is fixed and qualitative, never hourly. We walk the house, count the bedrooms and bathrooms, look at the floor types and the traffic, agree the frequency, and send a written quote within 24 hours. That number is what you pay each visit — no meter running, no surcharge for using your own products, no contract term. If the house genuinely changes, whether that is a new baby, a new puppy or an extension out the back, we re-quote openly instead of quietly stretching the visit and hoping you do not notice.
Booked around your week, not ours
We clean Monday to Saturday from 6am, which is why a good number of our clients never meet their cleaner and never need to be home. Others prefer to be there for the first two or three visits and hand over a key once they are comfortable. Both are normal. What matters is that the slot holds: your day and time are yours, and if your cleaner takes leave you are told in advance and get a briefed replacement rather than a stranger at the door.
If you also need the carpets extracted, an oven brought back from the dead, or a full exit clean when a lease ends, we fold those into the same relationship instead of sending you off to find another company. Call 1300 494 983, or send the form and we will come and look at the house.
Beyond the fortnightly visit
The deep-clean jobs a regular visit cannot reach
An oven cavity, the inside of the windows, blinds done slat by slat, wardrobe floors and the space behind heavy furniture are each hours of work on their own. Force them into a fortnightly visit and something else quietly gets rushed, so we keep them out of the standard scope and tell you that before you book rather than after.
They still get done, just properly. Either we rotate them through the year as scheduled extras on your regular booking, or we handle them in one hit as a standalone deep clean before a party, after a renovation, or when a house has been shut up for a season. Either way, the scope and the price are agreed before anyone starts.
- Oven interiors, racks and rangehood filters degreased
- Inside windows, sliding-door tracks, blinds and pelmets
- Wardrobe interiors and the space behind heavy furniture
- Skirting boards, air vents and high dusting

What's included
What a regular home clean includes
A standard visit follows the same list every time, so nothing depends on who is rostered on or how the week has gone.
- Kitchen benchtops, splashback and sink scrubbed and dried, not smeared
- Cooktop degreased and stainless appliance fronts polished free of prints
- Microwave and rangehood exterior wiped, cupboard doors and handles cleaned
- Shower screens, tiles and grout worked on so soap scum is removed, not polished
- Toilets cleaned inside and out, including the base, hinges and cistern
- Basins, taps and mirrors finished streak-free
- Beds made and linen changed whenever you leave fresh sheets out
- Dusting of skirting boards, sills, shelves, picture frames and light switches
- Ceiling fans and reachable air-vent grilles dusted
- Carpets and rugs vacuumed, including edges and under anything that moves
- Hard floors mopped with a finish suited to timber, tile or vinyl
- Internal glass and mirrors spot-cleaned for marks and fingerprints
- Bins emptied, liners replaced and bin lids wiped down
- Final walk-through so the house is left tidy, aired and locked as agreed
Oven interiors, inside windows, blinds, garages and heavy decluttering sit outside a standard visit. Tell us at the assessment and we will either rotate them through the year or price them as a one-off deep clean.

FAQ
Home cleaning questions we get asked most
What does home cleaning Sydney wide cost with Clean Best?
Clean Best does not publish a flat rate for home cleaning, because a two-bedroom unit and a five-bedroom house are not the same job. We do a free walkthrough, count the bedrooms, bathrooms and floor types, agree the frequency you want, and send a fixed price in writing within 24 hours. That price is what you pay each visit. There is no hourly meter, no lock-in contract and no surcharge for using your own products.
Do I get the same cleaner every visit?
Yes — Clean Best assigns one police-checked cleaner to your address and keeps them in that slot, because continuity is the whole point of a regular booking. They learn where things live, which surfaces need care and what you would rather they skipped, and the house improves visit on visit. If your cleaner is unwell or on leave we tell you in advance and send a briefed replacement rather than a stranger.
Do you bring your own products and equipment?
Clean Best can bring everything — vacuum, mop, microfibre cloths and a standard product kit — or use the products you already keep under the sink. Plenty of households prefer their own because of allergies, asthma, natural-stone benchtops or a preference for low-fragrance cleaners, and that is no problem at all. Tell us at the assessment, leave the products out, and your cleaner uses those instead. There is no price difference either way.
How do you handle keys if nobody is home?
Clean Best cleans most homes while the family is at work or school, so access is agreed before the first visit. You can leave a key with us, use a lockbox or a smart-lock code, or let the cleaner in yourself. Keys are logged on a key register, tagged by code rather than by street address, and held by the one cleaner assigned to your home. If you ever stop the service, the key comes straight back to you at the last visit.
How often should I book a home clean?
Clean Best cleans most Sydney households fortnightly, and that is the frequency we recommend by default. Weekly earns its keep where there are young children, pets, shift workers or a large hard-floor area that shows every footprint. Monthly works for smaller units, or for people who tidy constantly and simply want the deep work done. We will tell you honestly at the walkthrough which frequency the house actually needs, because a fortnightly booking that stays on top of a house beats a weekly one that runs short.
Are your cleaners police-checked and insured?
Every cleaner Clean Best sends into your home holds a current national police check, and Clean Best carries $20m public liability cover. We are happy to show the certificate of currency before you book. Cleaners are our own staff, inducted and trained by a supervisor, not anonymous contractors picked up from a marketplace app. If anything is ever damaged, you deal with us and with our insurer rather than with an individual.
Can you do a one-off deep clean instead of a regular booking?
Yes — Clean Best takes one-off deep cleans as standalone jobs, with no regular booking required. They are common before a party, after renovations, at the start of a tenancy, or when a house has been shut up for a while. A deep clean covers everything in a standard visit plus the jobs regular cleaning does not reach: oven interiors, inside windows, blinds, wardrobe interiors, skirting boards and behind heavy furniture. Book it on its own, or as the first visit before a fortnightly schedule begins.
